We attended our 4th antenatal class yesterday and it was, for me, nothing short of frightening. We were presented with a plastic doll and taught how to hold the baby, how to bath the baby, how to swaddle the baby, how to burp the baby etc... I must say it was NOT easy! If I couldn't do it with a plastic doll, how was I going to do it with a real life baby... moving limbs and all???
You always think that you will have the "mother's instinct" and it'll come naturally from within. But Noooooo.... I was fumbling left, right and centre. During the cloth nappy bit, the instructor actually came over and said "no good. fail! try again!". Sigh.
Now I have to deposit more prayers in this area to the Man upstairs. I have just 2 and a half months more... eeks!

she actually said that?! that's kinda harsh! seeing that you've bought the super cool already-assembled cloth nappies, you don't have to fear changing diapers. PLUS, you can always fall back onto using DISPOSABLES. :) hon, as long as you can survive the first couple of months and your bub is happy and growing, i think that's plenty already. if it's any consolation, i'm nearly 8 mths into this mothering thing and i'm STILL learning.
take heart. if God's blessed you with such a lovely miracle, He's certain to give you the tools you'll need. at the very least, He'll send you someone who'll help. :)
Thanks Lea... I'm sure God will be there for me. If anything at all, even if I learn it the hard way, at least I learn! For the babies to come ;)
